These are our services.
Single Burning Item
The understanding of the fire behavior of building products has been increasingly important in recent times. The characteristic fire properties are regulated at a national level across all European member states and play a crucial role in evaluating the potential use of a building product. Woodsafe Research & Development offers full-scale testing in accordance with the EN 13823:2020 method."If you need further assistance or have any other text you'd like me to look over, feel free to ask!
Cone Calorimeter
We conducts tests that include checking mass loss, heat release, ignition time, and other parameters. Additionally, we also offer testing services in line with various standards such as ISO 5660-1, ASTM E1354, ASTM E1474, ASTM E1740, and ASTM F1550. If you have any specific questions or require further details about fire testing methods or standards, please let us know!
Small Flame Ignition
Fire testing system used to determine the ignitability of building products when exposed to direct flame impingement, specifically referring to the Single Flame Source Test according to DIN EN ISO 11925-2 for classification into Euroclasses B, C, D, and E. Woodsafe Research & Development provides testing services in compliance with the EN ISO 11925-2 method. If you have any more questions about fire testing methods or classifications, feel free to ask for further assistance.
Constant Climate Chambers
Test the resilience of materials in our climate chamber, simulating extreme weather conditions. Research paving the way for more sustainable and weather-resistant wood products. Temperature range: -10 °C to +100 °C• Humidity range: 10 % RH to 98 % RH. Woodsafe Research & Development offers testing according on the basis of your needs.
QUV Accelerated Weathering Test
To simulate outdoor weathering, the QUV accelerated tester exposes materials to alternating cycles of UV light and moisture at controlled, elevated temperatures. It simulates the effects of natural sunlight and artificial irradiance using special fluorescent UV lamps in the UVA, UVB, and UVC portions of the spectrum. Woodsafe Research & Development offers testing according to EN 927-6 and more.
Microscope Analysis
Analysing in depth, we see things that are impossible for the human eye. Complaints or other phenomena occurring in wood, painted wood, fire-impregnated wood and phenomena such as mould and fungal growth are effectively analysed.
Fire Retardant Treatment
Fully automated with extremely high accuracy of fire retardant delivery, this customised autoclave is unique. The ability to vary processes with adapted concentrations in four different systems provides full capability to efficiently develop new systems and optimise fire classes. The test facility is 100% controlled by advanced specialised software developed by WRD.
Advanced Kiln Process
Fixation process in unlimited variations ensures optimal results for drying all types of wood and modified wood. In addition to fixation process properties are tested such as heat stress, improper wet/dry parameters, cupping, cracking and more. Our research aims to improve methods for optimal results.
Control at All Stages
With expertise in control and quality systems, WRD ensures traceability in all stages and tests. The WRD quality system manages more than 200 control points within the overall WRD service offering. This is apart from the quality and management systems ISO 9001:2015.
Material Control & Assembly
Conduct facade testing to evaluate the aesthetic and functional properties of wood materials under varying environmental conditions, a critical step towards more sustainable and visually appealing buildings.
Reporting
All assignments are quality assured and reported in accordance with management system requirements, traceability and standard guidelines. It is important to recognise that the reporting follows the standard, but the test result is a reporting of properties, not a classification or certification of product performance.
